Rotary vs DA and when to use
I have a 2008 jeep wrangler that is black and has some oxidation on it that needs to be removed. I just got some menzerna compounds starting with the 400 then 1500,2000,3000 and 4000. I am hoping to start with 2000 but will have to see what will do the trick. Then going to apply a sealant then a carnauba wax. I have both a rotary and a da and want to know if I should start with the rotary to make paint correction easier and then move to the da after the oxidation is removed. What do you guys recommend. When do I use the rotary and when do I use the da?thank you for you advice.

Re: Rotary vs DA and when to use
Is this a single stage paint or a base clear?
Are you able to post photos of this oxidation?
It's always best to do a test spot and start with the least aggressive method to get the job done.

Re: Rotary vs DA and when to use
I just read a long post on this last night and ill be darned if I can find it today! Mike has some info on it. For major corrections he said the rotary 1st then follow up last 2 steps with DA. IF single stage, he has a whole different article on that. He feeds the paint with Megs #7 and mussels it all out by hand, but you could do it w/ a machine.

It is a base coat clear coat. I am on vacation for a few days so I cannot post pics right now. Sorry
