Audi s5 rock hard paint nightmare! Need suggestion
I am in the process of trying to cut threw the hardest clear coat I have ever buffed. I currently used this product and pad on two test spots
5 inch LC hybrid blue pad/3401/ m105 5 passes
After noticed swirls still remained u swapped out pad
5 inch LC hybrid orange pad/3401/m105 5 passes
This test spot had better results but swirls still remained! Please any suggestions

M105 on ceramiclear can be hit or miss based on what I have read as well as experienced. On my Volkswagen CC, M105 did nothing to the light swirls using my Flex 3401 and a CCS or Flat pad cutting or polishing pads. At one point I pressed down with maybe 15-25lbs of pressure and was disappointed nothing happened. It was then that I realized I had the wrong product. I felt good, actually, knowing I have really good quality paint! A few months later I used the same process but with Menzerna IS1500 and my "light swirls" were completely eliminated. I finished with SF4500 and "oh, baby, yes" was the reaction. ;-)
I did purchase Surbuf pads in the event the foam pads didn't work, and in the end didn't need to use them.

Welcome to my nightmare! I just finished my wife's 2010 A5. We got it used and it was a swirled out mess! The corrections took about 20 hours for that small car and it is NOT 100% corrected. I am a weekend enthusiast and have limited supplies. The best combo I came up with was Meg's m300 on their MF cutting pad on my Flex 3401. Make sure the pads are small (5.5" or smaller) to concentrate the force and then LEAN on the pads. When I say lean, I mean really give it the business! At one point I was so frustrated I let the pad sit in one spot for a good 30 sec under heavy pressure and it still didn't correct the scratches! I think they use a diamond paste in their clear. It turned out pretty well but I really could have used a rotary polisher or m105.
Good Luck!

Menz SIP Does wonders. The vest I have seen with the European paints.

Menzerna is my go to product for most all german paints. Except porsche, much softer clear. On audi/vw my test spot usual starts out with orange pad and menz sip. Then I adjust from there.

I too tend to detail a lot of VAG cars (hard German paint) and have found Menzerna polishes up to the task.
A real good starting point may be some of the new FG400. Has great cutting ability and finishes off pretty darn well too.
