Issues with Carpro perl
When using Perl on my dash and door panels at 5:1 dilution I find it leaving a very shiny finish(especially on black). The finish looks great in the shade but when sunlight hits the dash it appears very shiny. I applied using a microfiber towel, sprayed on the towel and wipe onto surface. I buffed after about 5 minutes with a clean towel.
I previously used meguiars ultimate protectant and the perl appears much shinier in the sun. In the shade perl is more matte.
Anyone have a similar issue or a solution?
Thanks

I don't have a solution but I used Perl on dark grey interior @ 5:1 and it came out perfect, matte finish. I first cleaned all areas with a diluted APC, let it dry, then applied Perl with a foam applicator....no buff. I did this 6 days ago...still looks sweet.

You could have possibly applied too much product. Try buffing it with a clean and dry microfiber towel again and see if it helps.

I cleaned with apc before applying...I will try using a foam applicator see if that changes the finish.

I buffed it about 5 minutes after application.

If it's too shiny, buff it before the 5 minutes. Say try 2 minutes after. That should get it more matte.

Good tips as far as buffing it sooner if needed.
Also instead of 5:1 you can dilute a little bottle further and test. Not all vinyl and plastic is the same so you can find different results with any product depending.

Thanks all. I will try these suggestions, hopefully this weekend.

Re: Issues with Carpro perl
Just an update if anyone in the future has a similar problem.
As soon as I finished applying to a panel I used a clean, dry microfiber to buff the dash/panel and BAM! one dark, low gloss finish (both in the shade and direct sunlight) . Man this stuff looks good. Thanks again ihaveacamaro.
