    Wolfgang ETS vs Traditional Sealants

I'm building a shopping cart and started to wonder....is there much difference between a dedicated trim sealant vs Klasse, Menzerna Power Lock, 4* UPP et al?

The the trim sealants seem to be pricey per oz in reference to traditional sealants.

I am speaking strictly of sealing, not restoring. What are your thoughts?

I believe the trim sealants (WETS & UTTG) are based more on the sealant technology used in the WOWA sealants, which makes them different and why they are more expensive. I think the consensus is that they will last longer than sealants for paint.

I know your next question is if they are that good, why not use them on paint? These two have an oily carrier and usually need to be wiped dry later, so they're not good on "shiny" surfaces, because they look streaky and messy. I thing CEE DOG did a UTTG experiment on paint at some time.

I haven't used the UTTG, but the WETS is probably the best trim product I've used short of a restorer like C4. But in your situation, with a new car, you could also just use a WOWA sealant on your trim, and then you'd have it for other uses, too.

That is kinda what I was thinking. I may just go with Klasse straight over the trim and see how it lasts. $20 for 4oz is just a bit rich for me. I cannot see that the return will be worth that. Or just suck it up and buy it. It may be worth it for the fender flares on the wrangler.

I prefer dedicated products for their use. I feel like if a traditional wax proved to be a good trim protectant/restorer the company would market it for that?
