    ceramic coated headers

i've got my project town down and motor is on a stand. found a tool my box is missing, so a timing gear puller is planned for sunday morning.

at the same time, i'm looking at parts and wanting to do a bit of polishing.

i'm working on ceramic coated headers and have always been told the best option is steel wool

i'm wanting to know if there is a better option, or if the above mentioned method is the best option.

i have always just used mothers wheel polish on them with a powerball etc and they have always cleaned up well.

    Re: ceramic coated headers

Personally I wouldn't use any steel/bronze wool on ceramic.

After you thoroughly clean the headers with a mild soap/water solution, you could use a dedicated ceramic polish, like this one:

    Cermaglow Metallic Ceramic Polish

    Product description:

Now you can safely polish your ceramic headers for that just coated look. This specially designed formula is safe for all the popular ceramic coatings and is easy to apply. Simply apply with a soft cloth and buff until desired shine is achieved. The more you buff, the greater the shine. 6 ounces. Made in USA. 90 day mfg defect warranty. (Available through: Eastwood...Item #50449 Z)

Just a suggestion. (There are other dedicated ceramic polishes from other vendors.)

No steel wool. Mothers with a long tube sock, wrap it all the way around the headers and go to town.
