Need help with Grit Guard Universal Pad Washer

I started using my new Grut Guard Universal Pad Washer today. It cleans the pads very well. I'm using a Flex 3401. I have two problems:
1. When I go to use the Grit Guard Extension on the Top to purge excess water, the rotating pad sends the whole top spinning. Even tightening down the top doesn't help.
2. Running the buffer at high speed to purge excess water, sends water flying everywhere, not just laterally. This happens even if the pad is in the washer above the water with the wing closed. I'm not happy about water flying up into the buffer head.
Any help would be appreciated.

I'm sorry to disagree but quoting from Page 8 of the Manual:
Standard Drying:
After Cleaning, keep the Splash Guard lid closed, raise polisher slightly off the Grit Guard and spin out excess moisture at a higher speed.

Advanced Drying:
Place the Grit Guard Extension in the Splash Guard Lid, over the area printed "DRY PAD HERE"> Operate polisher/buffer on higher speed setting against the Grit Guard Extension as shown in Figure 4.

If you don't run it at a high speed after cleaning, the pad stays saturated with water and you cant use it for the rest of the job.

When drying on the Grit Guard extension there isn't a need to put that much pressure down on the polisher. The 3401 is forced rotation and you don't have to use as much pressure like you would with a PC7424. Also use a microfiber towel to blot dry the pads right after washing them to remove most of the water.

Sorry, I thought it was at low speed when contacting any part of the unit, and only higher if it wasn't touching anything. I guess I should've keep my mouth shut. I've had mine for about 3 years and haven't had any problems like you describe. Best wishes...hope you figure it out. I would be careful about running it at higher speeds with a much water in the pad. It's very easily turned into a projectile if it slings off.

Maybe this is what I was thinking of from AG store page:

"Always use the Dual Action Pad Washer with the polisher on its lowest setting for cleaning. You can use a slightly higher setting for drying."

Also, when I have used my GGUPW, I clean it on the extension (when the extension is on the large grit guard) on speed 2, then I lift it up, turn it to about speed 5 or so, and let it spin mostly dry (all inside the bucket, of course). To me, this seems to be the most efficient and least messy method. Here is my review:

Sorry, I thought it was at low speed when contacting any part of the unit, and only higher if it wasn't touching anything. I guess I should've keep my mouth shut. I've had mine for about 3 years and haven't had any problems like you describe. Best wishes...hope you figure it out. I would be careful about running it at higher speeds with a much water in the pad. It's very easily turned into a projectile if it slings off.
