    Touch up paint sanding

I just applied touch up paint to several scratches on a vehicle. I plan to apply at least one more coat once this one is set. I plan to sand down the painted areas to blend. My question is, I plan to do the sanding and polish out sanding scratches before applying top coat to the scratched areas. Is that the right order to do it in and should I dry or wet sand? Thanks, Chad

By top coat, do you mean clear coat? Touch up paint, level sand with 2000, clear coat, polish out. Oh, I would wet sand.

Chad you do not need to polish out the 2000 grit sanding marks before shooting a clear. As
a matter of fact the 2000 sanding marks will give the clear coat something to adhere to.
