    Red face love bugs

If you live in Folrida as I do you know what love bugs are. The question is... is there something that will remove the marks/etching they leave if you leave them on your paint to long? The etching is pretty bad and I tried buffing M105, M205 but the marks still show. The good thing is it aint my car.

If they etched the paint and polishing by compound did not work, then you likely could wetsand but tread carefully.

During lovebug season, I keep a small travel size spray bottle of Poorboys Bug Squash and thick MF towel in baggie in car. Quickly remove that harsh and nasty bug boodie.

This might sound somewhat far-fetched but try some vegetable cooking spray like Pam. Liberally spray the area and leave it while you're out. The bugs will splatter but will come off easily when you get home.

Another method is use a temporary clear bra. It's a clear plastic that you put on just for times like this.

Check out this link in the Blogs about Amazing Roll Off to help with the Love Bugs. The product was used on Megan's car that was plastered with Love Bugs.

3000 grit followed by 105/205 is my preferred method of getting rid of bug etching. But if you are going to take that route you are going to want to get paid for it cause it really take a lot of attention to detail so you don't go too deep. Bumpers are almost all plastic nowadays and its always scary to compound painted plastic because if they get too hot, you can get wrinkle. I would charge an extra 15 bug etch or 100 for the entire bug correction. After you get done, give the customer a small bottle of QD and a microfiber so they can avoid the problem in the future and you won't have to get rid of burnt bugs on the same car over and over again.

i've done this before it works like a charm. just remember to wash the pam off when your down with your trip. it will pick up road grim as well.
