how do you clean window seals

about to remove the scratches from my side windows in my gmc my concern is if there is dirt inbetween the glass and weather striping how do you clean this part.
i would think if there is any kind of dirt in there it would just put more scratches back in the glass.

On my Chevy, I wash the truck good and dry. Then roll the window down and clean the gaskets good with Griots rubber cleaner, a rag on a plastic putty knife works well. Then dress them. Seems to help.
'Cause there's just something women like about a pickup man.

what if your windows dont go down all the way and the seals are real tight.my car windows stay up about 2" and no way to get them down any more they bottom out. The ones on my truck would work with the sugestions but not the car.
