    Scratch Resistant Clear Coat

Struggling with correction on 2016 MB with Scratch Resistant Clear Coat. Many compounds and polishes that work flawlessly on traditional single stage and Base/Clear finishes simply do not touch the high ceramic content scratch resistant clear coat on newer Mercedes vehicles. I have used 3M SRC Finesse-It (part #05927) with success, but it seems to be better suited at adding gloss and clarity to otherwise corrected scratch resistant clear coat. It struggles with initial ‘correction.’ But 3M does not offer a heavier cut version of this product. FWIW, I am using a FLEX 3401.

So - what are forum members using for initial correction on ultra-hard scratch resistant high ceramic solid clear coat finishes?

Happy to have recommendations for pads as well as compounds.

    Thank you.

32 oz. Menzerna Medium Cut Polish 2400 Menzerna Super Intensive Polish, Menzerna PO 83 , Mernzerna PO85RD 3.02

Menzerna Medium Cut Polish 2400 is designed for the removal of scratches, swirls, and oxidation on the scratch-resistant clear coats used by Mercedes Benz. Concentrated, specially milled abrasives remove 2000 grit sanding scratches to leave a brilliant shine with little or no hazing.

32 oz. Menzerna Super Finish SF-3500 Menzerna Nano Polish PO 106 FA, Menzerna Final Polish, Nano abrasives, finishing polish, professional polish

Menzerna Super Finish SF-3500 is the next generation of Nano Polish PO 106 FF. Super Finish SF-3500 contains a micro-fine abrasive dust that quickly removes light imperfections and holograms while creating a mirror shine. This new formula features less dusting than the original Nano Polish and leaves your vehicle with the glossiest possible finish.

    Re: Scratch Resistant Clear Coat

Bingo on the Menzerna line up that Bobby posted. Works great. My only other insight is don't go crazy shooting for perfection. It's a daily driver and the way Ceramiclear is designed is that the scratch resistant portion of the clear settles in the top most portion of the clear. If you cut it all away, it's gone so just remove what you need to remove. Finish up with CarPro Essence and then use UK 3.0 or SiC as the coating and be done.

I do well well with Menzerna FG400 and Super Finish 3800 for Black MB's or 3500 with other colors. That IMO is the best combo for MB's.

Menzerna is what MBNA uses in house and at their prep centers to jewel a car…..

    Re: Scratch Resistant Clear Coat

I wish Menzerna sold the 2400 in anything smaller than 32 oz. I’ve got one vehicle to correct - and then it’s getting ceramic coating. I note they do sell their Medium Cut Polish 2500 in a smaller size - is the 2500 a big step down in correcting ability from the 2400? Seems like the 8 oz 2500 paired with the 8 oz 3500 would be a nice 2-step, provided the 2500 will provide sufficient correction on a scratch resistant clear coat.
