2009 Toyota Camry Dash Issue
One of my friends has a 2009 Toyota Camry that was just purchased. The dash of the vehicle is really shiny and sticky. He has attempted to clean it with rags which have stuck to the dash. He has researched about a recall on several models of Toyota's for similar problems with the dash. He was told that his vehicle was too old to be covered by the dash replacement warranty. Does anyone have any ideas on products that might be used to make the dash less shiny and sticky. He said that he touched the dash and his hand stuck to it. This was a problem that he was not aware of when he purchased the vehicle for his daughter but now they are stuck dealing with. All help is appreciated.

Get a dash cover. There are some members that were not pleased with Covercraft.

In Australia this is a common thing with some car manufacturers
You have to either replace or just hide the problem with a dash mat.

It is petroleum separation from the material, nothing can be done to clean it it off.
As other have mentioned, get a dash pad cover or a replacement.

It is a temporary fix for say if you wanted to sell the car or trade it in,
The problem is the petroleum from within the plastic keeps separating from the original dash.
