How to disguise small stone chips on black hood
My Chevy Colorado is black. On the hood there are about 6 or 8 small stone chips. When I wax the truck, I cannot get the wax out of the chips and it turns white making the chips more obvious. What can I do to get rid of the white wax inside of the stone chips?

Use some lacquer thinner on a cotton swab and get yourself some Dr. Color chip touch up paint. Just dab on smear and done.

Re: How to disguise small stone chips on black hood
Thank you for the reply. I have used Dr. Colorchip on an old BMW I had as well as my 05 Mustang GT with pretty good success. I was thinking about trying that. I bought the truck used about 2 years ago and it had about 2000 miles on it. Its a 2019. I have used the Wolfgang products on it and it looks great except for the stupid paint chips. Seems as if the factory paint is kinda fragile.

Here’s another reasonably priced option:
https://accessories.chevrolet.com/pr...model=Colorado
Although my Colorado is White, I still
like the way this hood protector model
protects the leading edges of the hood.

Re: How to disguise small stone chips on black hood
My issue with hood bras is that they can mar the paint underneath. To prevent this, I put a strip of painter's tape on the paint before installing the bra. The downside is you have to replace the tape and reinstall the bra often.
Treat it like it's the only one in the world.

If this is in response to my above
post (#4): That’s not a hood bra.
Rather it’s what some refer
to as being a “Bug Guard”.

I'd use a polymer sealant that doesn't leave white residue in cracks.
