Brand new white truck with surface stains-how to remove
the truck (2021 Silverado 2500HD) has been sitting outside the last few days. i gave it a wash tonight and found stains on the surface that seem to be very difficult to get out. while they do come out with a lot of elbow grease, its a big truck, so i'm looking for a more efficient way to remove those stains. after a quick look, I found that meguires ultimate compound will remove oxidation, scratches, water spots and blemishes without scratching. what i have in the paint i guess i would refer too as 'blemishes'. would you think Meguires is something i could use to remove these blemishes/stains or is there something better? thanks in advance -- Brian
Brand new white truck with surface stains-how to remove
It depends on what the stains are but I worked on a white Mercedes C300 with a lot of road grime and stains. I used Stoners Tarminator along with a Wolfgang Das Bug Sponge and it removed the stains with ease. I did a full paint correction afterwards so I wasn't concerned about marring the surface. The stains came out and the car was a bright white.
I believe in treating everybody with respect, and clean cars. That’s what I believe in.

Meguiar’s has what is known as:
“The 5 Step Paint Care Cycle”.
Step 1.)
•Washing/(Drying)
Step 2.)
•Clean/Prep (contaminates/defect removal)
-There are two categories of contaminates:
1.) Above-Surface Contaminants
a.) Use Clay/clay-lube to remove
2.) Below Surface Defects
a.) Use Paint Cleaners or Compound Products
to remove
b.) Meguiar’s Ultimate Compound (UC) falls
within this paint cleaning step.
•Going forward:
-IMO: If Claying doesn’t remove the staining,
it usually means it’s a below surface defect...
-it will then be necessary to use a good “paint
cleaner” such as Meguiar’s UC.
Note:
Be sure to follow up with a Wax, Sealant, etc.

Assuming you are looking at removing random stains by hand, Meg's Ultimate Compound is a pretty good choice to try, but be sure to use light hand pressure. It can leave some hazing behind if you use too much pressure.
I think Ultimate polish would be a better choice, but either should work.
Before either the compound or polish I would try a clay bar to determine if the spots are actually an above surface contaminant.

I would start out with something that is not very aggressive and that has a "cleaning" capability as well ... BF One Step for example. If that doesn't work, dial it up a notch at a time.
