LSP to send son’s car off to college

In the fall my oldest is going to the local University and will be taking his Aegean Blue ‘17 Civic with him. Living in the dorm, it will be outside 24/7 In the South Plains weather. I doubt he’ll take much care of it detailing wise.

I bought some Griot’s 3 and 1 ceramic for it after seeing an online durability test that showed 7 months and still growing strong. Now I’m wondering if I should have done a ceramic coating. Haven’t done one yet but this might be the instance it makes sense for me.

    recomendations?

I'd not coat it as it will be full of water spots next time you see it. That Griot's 3-in-1 sounds like a good move IMO.

    IMO:
If either of the below LSPs are applied right
before your Son takes the vehicle to College
    (Fall of 2021)...

then they will be more than able to withstand
anything that the South Plains weather can ever
manage to throw at them—at least until around
    Groundhog’s Day 2022.

{And unless he takes it Baja-ing...even ‘til
    Spring Break (2022) is a distinct possibility.}

    I'd say coat it.

I did this for my both my daughters when they went to college.

My oldest daughter's car saw McKee's 37 Paint Coating, CanCoat, and something else in there (she did a 6-year doctorate program). It was perfect for a car living in a dorm/apartment lot or parking garage. When she graduated and got married I coated the car again with CQuartz UK 2.0 and after three years it's still going strong. Through all of this the car looks great even though it only gets washed about once every six weeks or so. Never had a water spotting issues.

Youngest daughter's car is wearing CQuartz UK 3.0. After at least a year of high school and a year of college it's still looking great despite going months between washes while she's away. No spotting or any other real issues with the coating. This fall I'll probably refresh it and do it again before she moves back to campus.

Re: LSP to send son’s car off to college

I’ve got a bucket and a small bottle of ONRWW that I have that he can take with him. Not sure he’d use it though. So a few votes for sealant and one for coating. Might put the Griot’s on now and see how it survives the summer.

Keep the suggestions coming por favor!

I'm with Bob on this one.

In addition, I'd add Collinite 476s to the list.

    Keep’em coming.

Did a little research and a review by Mike on Gyeon Q2 One popped up. Looks like it might be an option? Easy to apply and a real coating?

ETA: I guess my ideal solution would be most protection and right at a year durability.

Re: LSP to send son’s car off to college

I recently used Griots 3 in 1 for my warm weather protection this year. I have to say its one of the easiest LSPs I've ever used. It applies just like a detail spray that disappears into the paint. Itll take you no time to apply
