Sonax Brilliant Shine Detailer on a ceramic coated car.
Hello everyone.
My black car was polished and then protected with ceramic coating (Gyeon) by a professional a few months ago, and I'm really happy with the results. Since then I only wash it with neutral pH shampoo.
Is it possible to use a detailer like Sonax Brilliant Shiner Detailer on top of the ceramic coating, especially in the finishing drying process? Will I loose any benefit from the ceramic coating?
I really like the product and already have it, and drying a black car can be a pain.
Thanks!

Ask what your detailer recommends. I offer SB3 coatings. There is a specific product from SB3 that works with their coatings that I sell to customers

Drying with a Griot's PFM towel should be a breeze since you don't have to make multiple passes.
Treat it like it's the only one in the world.

BSD has worked on many types of coatings for me over the years. Extremely hydrophobic as you already know because you already have it. What is your drying method? Maybe you can get some suggestions help making your process easier.

Lots of options available. I typically use QD's designed for ceramic coatings on my coated cars. CarPro Ech2O diluted 1:20 works great for me as a post-wash wipe down/drying aid.

Good to know that.
I basically use a microfiber towel which should be a good quality one, but somehow after a few hours I always see streaks and imperfections.

If you’re seeing streaks, try dilution 1:1 with distilled water. Or use more towels as you’re drying.

Another suggestion would be using less product and also applying the product to the towel and not directly on the surface. For me, the success of dilution and/or different application/removal methods seem to vary by product. Just takes a little experimentation to lock in the best process.
