No updates yet - hopefully the family will sort things out through the holidays and if it's going to happen - we'll see the car here.

    Fingers are crossed.

I received an update yesterday about this car. The new owner is working on getting it shipped to Stuart, Florida.

    Fingers Crossed.

Until then, here's a fresh Barn Find,

Here's the full write-up for this detail job.

I know youve stated on numerous occasions you dont like using running water especially on older cars, how would you approach the initial wash process on that car?

IN the past, my normal approach woujld be to use a waterless wash, spray on HEAVY SATURATION and use LOTS of towels to wipe the car clean. I teach this in my classes too.

At the time I posted the above picture, I don't think I had actually created the write-up thus no link. Since then, I detailed the car and created the write-up, (takes hours to create a good write-up). I just edited the post above and included the link to the write-up.

And if you scroll down the thread you'll see this picture. It shows I used my normal go-to Prep Wash, SONAX Glass Cleaner

Since then, my good buddy Jim Lafeber aka Dr. Beasley, who has attended 3 of my recent 3-day detailing classes as a VIP Guest, saw me using Glass Cleaner as a "prep wash" and asked why?

I explained, and he has just launched a brand new product based upon his experience with me called,

    Prep Wash

He brought a dozen bottles to my last class for the students to test out and also gave me a bottle to test out. I share it and my thoughts here,

BLACKFIRE One Step Topped with PBL Surface Coating - 2019 Chevy Impala

The entire car was as dirty as you see this mirror.

Spray, spray, spray... then wipe, wipe wipe.

Clean. That's all. Just clean. Exactly what I want.

He's tweaked and finalized the formula and it's now for sale at his website. My guess is, because we carry his line, it will be available here in the future.

Great question, thank you for asking.

Thank you Mike, you may need Dr. Beasley to send you a few more cases of his prep wash for when that Cuda arrives

    Ha ha...

I've expressed my sincerest wishes to the son of the Dad that is inheriting this car to LEAVE all the dirt on the car.

I've texted Ken and asked him for an update. I try to be positive, but my guess is after the car is trucked here to Stuart, the people involved will wash it in the driveway and buff it out with a wheel and some Nu-Finish.
