Fading paint on plastic bumper, need advice
I was wondering if I can do anything about this bumper. This is the plastic factory painted bumper, silver, that is outdoors 24/7 in south Florida sun just under the grill. Well maintained and the paint on the rest of the truck is in great shape on this 11 year old truck. I have noticed this fading/discoloring over the past year. I polished it well last maintenance session and it looked better. However, I was wondering if I can bring it back a little better or if it is in need of a paint job; it is starting to lose its battle to age. What is best to do for a painted plastic bumper?
Thanks.

First off, Welcome to Autogeek Forums!
To me that looks like clearcoat failure, and would need to be repainted. Since it can be removed that may make it easier to have done in a shop.

OK, if that is the case, until I can have that done should I just keep maintaining it in order to slow the progress?

Yes, you can maintain it with the LSP (Last Step Product/Protection) of your choice - wax, sealant, etc. But I would not polish again.

Have you looked into Solution Finish? It's to restore faded black plastic.
