No coating will protect against sprinklers and spotting.

Any "supplied" water (from the local municipality) will contain iron/minerals that you do NOT want to sit on your paint.

Wolfgang Spray Ceramic Coating applies pretty much like a wax or sealant and can be applied outside. I think it performs better with a few hours of rain free curing.
