Re: Fresh paint job on trunk lid. Possible holograms? Possible overspray?
Holograms are expected as most body shops just hit it with a rotary after color sanding. Should be easy to fix with a DA and a polishing pad.
Clay the entire car to remove overspray and then polish the whole thing.

Wow. As a painter myself, I'd never turn something like that back to a customer. Like BSoares said, clay it good, and then hit it with compound and a DA and it should all disappear.

I wish I could. The customer took it home. I hope they weren't too disappointed. Perhaps they didn't even know the level that their paint could achieve. Thanks so much for your input and advice! It was sad watching black beauty leave. I hope she comes back to me so I can get another shot at that paint one day! I can't help but feel disappointed though... I wish I could have brought her back to life.

Live and learn to fight another day, Jake. It's all good.
It is no coincidence that man's best friend cannot talk.

Thanks brother! Roger that. The customer picked it up that way unfortunately hopefully she'll come back one day and I can fix him up.

Just to chime in,
"Yes" those are hologram scratches.
The repair is easy - re-polish using a foam pad on any orbital polisher with any polish that uses great abrasive technology.
As for article, go to Skynet and type in key words using
Remove holograms mike phillips
And that should pull up something.

Will T800 Terminator units also be provided to assist with scratch removal?
