I'm going to detail a motorcycle that has been sitting for years so it's dirty. My main focus is the engine what are you peeps using...I seen s100 but seen different opinions on it. Any suggestions

    Custmsprty = Harley

    I've been using S-100 since 1996

It's the best for over all cleaning of the major portion of the bike and won't hurt the paint. And I'm fully chromed.

While I don't want to detail motorcycles, too much intricate work for me. I do know that the S100 Total Cycle Cleaner is a very popular product for cleaning a dirty bike engine and all surrounding areas.

It comes in a variety of forms and sizes including an AEROSOL. See here,

S100 Motorcycle Care Products - S100 is used worldwide by motorcycle detailers & enthusiasts! motorcycle detailing products, bike care products, s100

You're also going to want GREAT brushes to agitate the cleaner before rinsing for a thorough cleaning. I would recommend two of my favorite brushes for cleaning just about everything, see here,

Must Have Wheel Cleaning Brushes that make cleaning wheels fast and easy

Removing stubborn brake dust and road film in hard to reach areas

The Speed Master Wheel Detailing Brush works great to get into tight areas around the brake calibers to agitate and remove stubborn brake dust AND ROAD FILM.

Wheel Woolies Boar’s Hair Wheel Brush

    The perfect wheel cleaning brush
This is my favorite wheel cleaning brush. Why? Because the bristle are perfect for effective cleaning. They are stout enough to agitate the wheel cleaner but still flexible enough to bend and flex so the ends of the bristles can get into intricate areas. At the same time they won't scratch so they're safe for any finish.

Not only are the bristles the perfect combination of not to soft or not to stiff but the ends are flagged so they thousands of tips can agitate wheel cleaner in tight cracks, crevices and other wheel designs.

After you use the Wheel Woolies black wheel brush one time you'll agree they are the perfect wheel cleaning brush. I use them for cosmetic engine detailing for the same reasons I like them for wheel cleaning.

Makes cleaning any type of wheel fast and efficient....

I think the last time I detailed a bike it was with Bryann Fuller on Two Guys Garage

    Like I said, fully chromed.

    Custmsprty

The key to keeping a bike looking like this is to not let it get away from you or it takes a lot of time to clean it.

Have to keep the chrome polished and protected.

I use a nylon tipped toilet bowl swab to get in around all tight areas. To this day never found anything better. This gets deep in there but doesn't sling stuff all over you. These are literally .99 online.

    Re: Engine for motorcycle

I've never used S100. But I've used a lot of P21s TAW which is supposed to be made by the same company and be very similar in composition.

Best exterior general purpose cleaner I own.
