Re: water spots on car that sits in carport.
Are the water spots appearing after the wash or in between maintenance washes after the weather comes in? At any rate you could use a waterless wash to touch it up if it's after a wash or water spot removal product. If the water spots have etched into the paint then you'd likely have to polish it out in my opinion. Just a few thoughts off of the top of my head. Also be sure to wash the paint in a shaded and cool area if your not already doing so as hot paint will definitely yield water spots. I'm sure your washing out of direct sunlight and in the shade though. It seems like your pretty cautious.

Re: water spots on car that sits in carport.
Car is always washed in the garage seen in pictures. It's my dads shop. Water spots seem to show up between washes. Rain and contaminants seem to be doing it I guess? Water used is well water and there is no water softener but he does have spotless rinse Not sure brand but it has the two big tanks that water goes through. I only use that after washing and rinsing. Dont let soap etc dry either on it. I'll have to check out the water spot remover. Was bumbed out tonight when I washed it and could see the water spots during the drying process.
Just trying to figure out how to keep it from happening so I dont have to wash the car 5 times a week if it rains. Hard enough to find the time to do it 2 times. Wife and kids work etc.

And this is why so often when this topic comes up I say,
What's in the water?
Think about it?
I think the only thing that's going to help is a coating.

I think this is your best bet. If you get water spots on a respected coating brand like the CarPro UK 3.0 - we're back to,
What's in the water?
