Compound to use once a year by hand
Hi can someone suggest a compound that I can use about once a year safely by hand.
Also pad or fabric to use with compound.
Thanks in advance

Working by hand is rather labor intensive. I’d suggest a machine. That being said, Meguiars Ultimate compound works great by hand. Try a foam applicator and if that doesn’t give the desired results then switch to a microfiber applicator.

Ditto!
The only other thing I'd suggest is to start with Ultimate Polish to see if that gives the desired results. If not, then step up to the Ultimate Compound.

What kind of defects are you trying to remove by hand? You might not need to go as aggressive as a compound. A Polish or AIO might work better for you by hand.

Thanks for your replies.
I was thinking of a fine compound to use once a year over the the whole car. Yes it is labour intensive done it for awhile now by hand but like it. I use glaze before WGPS, but want something before the glaze. Does Meguiars have something maybe?

Collinite Sapphire pre wax cleaner. Like a fine compound but easier to use. Contains no wax. You will have to apply something afterwards for protection.

If you maintain the paint you should not need to compound that often. Possibly just spot compounding. You may want to consider a medium cut polish like Meguiar's M205 or possibly a compounding polish like 3D one that is pad dependent. You also have the option of just using an all in one.

I’ll suggest:
Britemax Resto Max Light Compound
by hand, on a polishing pad of your choice.

Thanks
I use 3m Hand Glaze.
The way I do things
Wash
Clay
Glaze
WDGPS
With Meguiars 205 or Ultimate polish I would do this before the glaze?
Does this look ok?
Thanks again

I'll agree and concur with Meg's #205 Polish by hand if one can get away with not needing a compound that's too aggressive. Can do triple duty with a D/A or Rotary too.
