    Re: Blackfire SiO2 spray streaking

Some have wondered the difference between BF SiO2 and BF Coating Booster. The Booster can be loaded on and will easily wipe off with no streaks. When I used BF SiO2 Spray I was using similarly and that’s when this streaking occurred. It’s a higher solids formula, no doubt.

I like to spray on panel and then the microfiber towel before spreading it out. Swap towels every section using the last drying towel as the next spreading one.

    Re: Blackfire SiO2 spray streaking

Try spraying onto a damp microfiber and then applying or even a dry microfiber instead of spraying directly onto the panel. About half of the SiO2 topper directions tell you to apply it this way. I’m not sure what the directions on BF say. Spraying onto a microfiber keeps you from over applying to your panel. Using a damp (not wet) will save you money too by not saturating the microfiber with expensive product. I keep a mister with distilled water with my toppers for this purpose.

    Re: Blackfire SiO2 spray streaking

I had streaking on my black car when I first tried this as well, after some fiddling around I figured out I was slightly over applying and working too large of an area at a time. It was drying before I could finish wiping the excess off. Lightly reapplying and then wiping off sooner seemed to help.
