    New car paint

My wife and I just bought a vehicle. It’s black with metallic flake. Wondering What would be better wax vs sealant.

Out of those two choices - generally speaking - a synthetic sealant will last longer and thus protect longer.

    Re: New car paint

We use to have a 2003 Black Taurus. I would use either Meguiars M21 or Finish-Kare 1000P on it. It stayed in a garage at night and in the elements all day and they both did a great job. I could usually get 6 months at least out of them. But I think the 1000P did last a while longer. I also liked the way that it sheeted the water rather then have a bunch of beading. Personally, I would rather have the sheeting action then beading. But that is my personal preference.

Sealant most certainly. To date my favourite Wolfgang Deep Gloss Paint Sealant 3.0. I get 6months + and it sits outside 24hours 7 days a week. Although something is better than nothing.
