    Lets talk about Iron Removers

I, like most others appreciate an iron remover. I use it as a heavy wheel cleaner as well as a decontamination for paint. And at this point i don't like being without it.

    Problem is...it's not cheap.

    IronX
    Ferrex
    Sonax

are the options on here that i know of. The issue is they are all upwards of and/or over $100/gallon.

I've been looking for alternative and i found the new Adams wheel cleaner. it's $59/gallon iirc. Turns purple, basically does the same thing from what i'm seeing.

I'd like to buy from Autogeek and generally i'm not a big fan of adams but i figure i throw the dilemma out there and hope some dedicated autogeekers can help me find another option.

    Thanks.

    Meguiar’s D180101 Wheel & Paint Iron Decon

    $79.99 regular price per gallon

    Catch it on sale

Works as good or better than all others I've tried. You can buy a bottle of the Meguiars Ultimate wheel cleaner (same stuff) for a nice foaming spray bottle if you don't have one already.

    I use BDX at $84 for 128 oz. I may try McKee's at $80 for 128.

I can only speak from using Iron-X and the Griot's Iron and Fallout Remover; I thought they performed the same with a slight edge to the Griot's for less funk and a little better cling. The Griot's I think is $80 for 128oz on AG.

Gyeon Iron. My favorite so far. Get it cheaper via a wholesale program. Sorry...

This may not fit every use case, but if one is looking for something that bleeds ferrous oxide it may be prudent to consider Pinnacle's concentrated wheel cleaner. It can be diluted 1:3 according to the product page.

Pinnacle Advanced Wheel Cleaner Concentrate 128 oz.

The CG iron remover goes on sale a lot and if you combine the sale price with one of their coupons you can get a gallon in the $50-60 range.

I got absolutely no color change from this product and sucked on lightly dirty weeks as sprY on hose off. Delicious peach jolly rancher smell though. Did a good job with agitation. ..
