In my barely informed opinion, I'd go:

    1A) Coatings
    1B) Sealants
    3) Waxes

However, my exposure to waxes is limited to well before I got serious doing this. Between my lack of experience, and improvements that have likely been made in wax technology, I might have my list wrong. But it's the way I lean right now.

Synthetic sealant, i can get 6 plus months out of FK 1000, I'm going to polish my car at least once a year so no reason to go with a coating.

    Category?:
    2. Synthetic Sealant

    Why?:
An easily renewable, man-made ingredients based
LSP that (at least from my experiences/perspective)
does not “gray-out” as quickly as does the more
    natural-ingredients based car Wax.

    2. Synthetic sealant.

    • Durability relative to ease of use.
    • Not requiring perfect or bare paint.
    • Light polishing/cleaning abilities found in select (liquid) sealants saves time.
    • Spray on, wipe off application of some sealants is convenient.

    Coatings

    1. Great Self Cleaning Abilities: Our cars see rain and often get rained on in the morning and then sit outside in the sun in the afternoon; don’t like waterspots. I like clean cars but don’t like cleaning cars. And with an affinity for black cars, need all the help I can get.

    2. Durability and resistance to environmental contamination like water spots and bird bombs. Don’t wanna have to worry about running home and immediately dealing with removing things that would otherwise etch bare (or sealant or wax covered) paint. Like hard water spots did to our Corvette during the sealant years. Also has to last cuz I don’t wanna be hauling out compounds and polishes every Spring, given reasonable maintenance. Yes, the 2nd year I'll likely be living with some light scratches and marring perhaps but in my world, laziness sometimes trumps consistent perfection. And 2 years, 40k miles is all I expect (or want) from a coating.

    3. Appearance: Well, stuff has to look good. Has to accentuate body lines, curves and hard edges. It needs to make me stop and admire it when walking towards it, walking away from it or catching a glance in the garage when I take out the garbage. I can choose various complimentary products to alter the look a bit should the mood strike me and still maintain decent self-cleaning characteristics.

I might make an exception for Polish Angel Master Sealant though...never seen an LSP that looks so luscious.

pretty much my opinion as well but I would add that it's nice to have an upsell option thats affordable for most people and having them there for application or re application provides an oppurtunity for upselling something else as well.

    Synthetics.

This includes Collinite products, some of my favorites to this day.
