    Holograms at Hotel

    Holograms at Hotel

Was checking out of hotel and a car with its headlight on (warming up in snow) was lighting up the paint on a motor home in the parking lot.

My detailer’s eyed spied holograms in the paint.

This RV has a basecoat/clearcoat finish - whoever buffed it out really did a dis-service to the owner.

They could have used a foam pad on any orbital polisher with a quality AIO and produced better results.

A saw a brand new Mazda CX5 the other day on a parking lot just like that. The vehicle was black and had holograms all over it. Not sure if the dealer did it or the owner took it to a car wash and asked for their buffing to be done thinking he'd make his new car shine. If I were into detailing for other people I'd definitely leave a note to offer fixing that car because it just looked terrible.

Wow! Thats a MASSIVE canvas to go & make a mess of too.

It takes just as long to do it wrong...

I reference this artical or at least the title often when I'm talking detailing not only to customers but friends, family & my peers. Its a great article.
Looks a little cold in that picture for me . . . hopefully someone out there will correct this for the owner some time.

Some “detailers” specialize in that kind of work. Fortunately for me, I specialize in correcting their work.

    Re: Holograms at Hotel

I had a guy with a brand new camper hire me to was and apply a sealant. That was summer of 2017.

Fast forward to this summer (I was hired to wash & wax again), and the fiberglass face is all swirled out. I asked what happened, and he said I was the last one to touch it.

As I proceed with the wash it is revealed to me that his dad used a "buffer" on it.

    It was horrible.
