The Art of Polishing Paint - 1935 Ford Coupe

Making the paint on this old 2-door Ford look like it has a candy coating.

    Leave no swirl behind...

Technically, there was a long arc scratch there but leave no swirl behind sounded better than leave no scratch behind...

Time to chemically strip the paint - this is where you really have to be careful or you’ll put scratches back into the paint

Thanks. Sorry I just now found this. I forgot about this car.

This was actually a "Bucket List" car for me, first time I ever buffed out a 1935 Ford.

The finish came out extraordinarily nice. The Pinnacle Black Label Paint Coating is a really nice product. Easy to apply, leaves a super high gloss and slippery finish. And in this case, it gave the paint a "candy coated appearance"

The bad thing was, the clearcoat on this car was SUPER HARD. The paint only had light or shallow swirls and scratches. But it took compound, a foam cutting pad and a LOT OF DOWNWARD PRESSURE on the BEAST to clean her up.

I've seen this car around town at a few car shows and it still looks great. I also noticed it's for sale. It has a huge 500+ cubic inch fuel injected engine and a full pro-built roll cage. It's definitely race-ready.
