Looking for updated advice on pads for the 3401

Hi Mike I’ve read your book on the 3401,in it you recommend the lake country 4in backing plate with the hybrid 5in pads as your favorite. Fast forward to 2018 and that backing plate and pad size is no longer available.

Flex does make a 4.5in backing plate and lake country force hybrid pads now come in 5.5in.
Standard backing plate that comes with it and force hybrid 6.5in pads. Or something completely different.

I think the the book was written around 2012, so what would you say is your favorite pad and size for the 3401 now?

    Thanks

    Thanks,

I just ordered my flex 3401 though so looking to see what everyone is using now...I don’t have the old 4in backing plate.

Tried doing a search and everything I could find is a few years old..

I pretty much use the 6.5" Hybrid Force pads with the factory backing plate.

One of the differences between the updated Force Hybrid pads and the first generation hybrid pads is the taper. I'm a fan of tapered pads for some tools but the Force Hybrids are very good pads.

The more time you spend behind the BEAST the better you get with it.

The RUPES 7" yellow pads are very good for one-step cleaner/waxes and the RUPES 7" white pads work great for finish polishing.
