Old product residue removal
Hi Mike,
I'm starting a paint restoration on my 1972 Datsun 240z which has all original paint using your guides to restoring single stage paint. The color is called "lime yellow" it's kind of like a tennis ball color, but with all the oxidation, just looks pale yellow. The paint seems to clean up pretty well with your system, but I've got an issue around things like badges and emblems. There's a buildup of something, not sure whether is's old compound, wax or what. I can't seem to remove it. Compounding does start to remove it, but of course will remove paint as well and the paint is very thin. Just working it a little, I can see that I've already gone a little too far in one area and the paint is starting to get translucent. Any ideas on safely removing this without damaging the paint?
Thanks,
Ken
