    Question Re: 1979 Trans Am - all original SS paint questions

    I started working on the Trans Am yesterday. The car was washed, clayed and rubbed down with #7 three times. The last round of the #7 rub down I left it on overnight and wiped it off this morning. I've noticed some "ghosting" in the paint (not sure what to call it) where it looks black.

    I'm wondering if this is the base coat/primer starting to show through? I tried to capture some of the areas in the pictures below. I'm thinking the best route to go is with a cleaner wax such as Blackfire One Step or HD Speed with a soft finishing pad. Please let me know what you think about the paint condition from the photos and advise the best way to proceed.
