I’m not Mike, but I use the Raggtopp Convertible Top Brush or you can also use a horsehair brush if it’s a vinyl top you’re cleaning [don’t really want to use horsehair if it’s a fabric top]
RaggTopp Premium Convertible Top Brush
As far as cleaning product, I like the Meguiars Convertible Top Cleaner. Foams up real nice and works great on both vinyl & fabric tops.

Will check it out.
I will have a light blue 1972 Chevelle SS 396 w/ 4 speed & black vinyl top coming in a couple of weeks.
Just trying to line up a game plan for this car.

I’m not Mike either , but if the top is in relatively good condition M40 is a good choice for cleaning and protecting vinyl covered hard tops.

I have a restored ‘70 Riviera with a full vinyl top. I don’t like doing traditional washes on this car (to keep water out of all the areas that are impossible to dry) so I stick to rinseless washing only.
M40 with a microfiber fiber foam pad works great at keeping my top in show condition!

Products for cleaning vinyl tops
I have a fresh full write-up for this topic coming up.
The top on this old 2-door Olds 442 had years of dirt and grime built-up into the grain pattern.
Came out nice!
