5.5 pad backing question
Hey whats up everyone. i am looking to get new pads in 5.5 size but i have the small backing plate. i believe its the 2 3/4 size. do i need a new backing plate to use the larger pads?

This would be a great starter kit. I have this BP on my GG6 and it would work equally as well on your PC, plus the 20% off sale going on today. These pads are excellent and they would take your PC to the next level.
You'll want to get a few more of these pads, white and orange, 3 of each. You'd be pretty well set. You need about 4-5 pads per polishing step per vehicle. Swapping out pads frequently does a number of things. You get good correction, as pad loads up it loses it's effciency and it has gunk in it too that you don't want to be rubbing all over fresh paint. Also, heat kills pads so this actually prolongs the life of your pads. Hope this helps.

The simple answer is yes, you need a 5" backing plate.
