Mothers California Gold Cleaner Wax Question

been using Mothers California Gold Cleaner was for a long time now. very happy with results. my question is being on that its a "Cleaner wax" if I add a second coat is it stripping the fist coat off? am I just wasting wax and money?

You can try to apply the second layer gently, but yes you are at least partially removing the first layer. Which is doing what it was designed to do.

I concur with DBAILEY. It will remove some for that seems to be what it was 'designed' to do. Why not just polish if you are after a 'deeper' clean? Then top with a wax or sealant.

deep shine is a goal. but my main goal is protection. protection from weather, bugs, rain, but mainly the hot Florida sun can be brutal. was adding second coat for extra protection. not sure if i use Mothers quick detail if that helps, hurts, or does noting. well at least that was my thought pattern.

Doubt the quick detailer will add anything protection wise to the paint. Better off with a spray wax between quarterly coats of wax

Something like optimum car wax in a gallon makes a decent budget wax

We do make a version of our Carnauba Cleaner Wax WITHOUT the cleaners. It's our part # 05750 in liquid, 05550 in paste. AutoGeek stocks both of them.

If I were wanting to add an additional coat, that'd be the way to do it.

given your user name I would like to pick your brain one more time pease.

I did try to use the reg Mothers paste wax. seemed kinda difficult to take off. could be Florida heat. After registering on this board it seems like synthetic is the way to go. Being that ive been loyal to Mothers product since my first car (used to use the "Three phase system) .I bought the synthetic liquid wax. being from down here I am going for maximum protection from weather rain SUN ect. Car look great. was very easy to work with. two weeks latter I was rinsing it down to give it a wash and the car really didnt bead much. now I am old school and feel beading means protection. Whats your thoughts on this? Is the the synthetic wax (liquid) better? Does beading mean protection ect? Any insight would be greatly appreciated.
