Meguiar's D-151, how to use? Tips & tricks?
I just ordered some of the D151 and I need to know the best methods for using it, like how long do I work it, does it need a lot of downward pressure & speed to work? How well does it finish out?
Depending on how well it works, I might use it on my own car as a base for Meguiar's Ult Fast Finish since I have decent amount of washing/drying swirls in my black paint, or should I just use Ult Polish?

I love it as a one step. It works very well and you can polish until it pretty much disappears.

Use it like you would use Ultimate Polish as far as arm speed and pressure. User experience is similar to Ultimate Compound, very easy to work with. You can either wipe it off after every section pass or let it sit till you're done with the panel or even the entire vehicle. [I usually do the whole car and then wipe off]
IMO it's finishing ability is just a notch below M205/Ultimate Polish.

So it's a YMMV polish? Depending on my paint will determine if I have to go to a finer polish than what D151 can achieve?

The "cut" of the buffing pads you
choose to use with D151, is also a
determining factor.

IME it's only a small difference in regards to removing defects when used the same exact way 50/50 on the same paint. In the end I noticed the M205 side was nearly/fully corrected and the D151 side was almost there but not quite like the other side. Small differences only noticeable under inspection light. NormL people won't be able to tell for the most part.

It's my goto product for 1 step. Great product IMO.
If your paint has damage in it, and you already have compounds and polishes, I would use those. This product (D151) is great for detailers because it allows us to cut time on details. If it's for your own car, take the extra time to bring the paint closer to perfection then protect it well with either a coating or a good quality paint sealant.
