Gelcoat left hazy after polishing step
just wondering if you have ever had this issue.
I cut this white gel coat with my rotary, electrified wool, and marine 31 heavy cut. Then trying to finish it out with my flex 3401 orange ccs pad and Marine 31 gloss and color restorer. After I finish with the flex its leaving the surface a little hazy

Re: Gelcoat left hazy after polishing step
Maybe go back to a regular cutting wool pad, then the 3401.I don't have much experience in marine 31 restore.

Re: Gelcoat left hazy after polishing step
Or maybe the initial cut was to agressive and really scoured the gelcoat.is it colored gelcoat if so try using the 3401 only with marine 31.Gel coat can get weird on you.It deosnt like high heat and causes matting.

Re: Gelcoat left hazy after polishing step
Sorry saw white gelcoat.see if the 3401 with marine will do.

Re: Gelcoat left hazy after polishing step
Or the marine 31 is not getting rid of the heavey cut compound with the flex and color restore, therefore not able to get a finished down look.

As Jeff stated, you may need to use something more aggressive than the Gloss and Color Restore to remove the marks left from the compounding step. Try Marine 31 One Step Compound Polish with the Flex and your orange CCS pad. If that doesn't do it, try a more aggressive pad like a UHS pad.
