Few years ago I spent way too much money and bought boxes of different Chemical Guys products to try out. Few years later and I've thrown bottles away that I hated working with.

To date the only CG product I still love is JetSeal and swear by it.

Anyway its a new year and I'm looking to buy some new compounds and what now and am looking for suggestions.

I've tried Adam's Polishes in the past but wasn't blown away for the price I was paying for it. And the off the shelf Meguiars as well, but it never gave great results.

What I'm looking for:

Heavy compound
Mid compound
Finishing compounds
Sealant (if there's something recommended more then JetSeal)

I use Dodo Juice hard wax and CG Butterwet liquid wax

My cars/colors:

2006 Toyota Corolla - Black (minor swirl marks - major detail happened in 2013. probably due for mid compound)
2008 Toyota Prius - Dark Grey (never detailed - heavy swirling and scuffs from being hit - heavy compound needed)
1998 Subaru Impreza - Java Black Pearl (repainted - paint is incredibly soft and scratches just by rubbing with your hand)
2013 Toyota Tacoma - Super White (never polished, only sealed and waxed. minor swirls could be handled with a mid/finish compound)

I top coat all with DoDo Juice Purple Haze. I need to get something specific/generic for the Tacoma being white though.

I'm also due for some new pads as well. Last time I bought pads for my PC Microfiber ones didn't exist. Is this something I should look into?

Oh man this is so easy. Menzerna. FG400, SF3500, and then Powerlock. Done.

Congrats on using Dodo Juice Products, they are top notch and PJ is good people. If you like their waxes, try Diamond White for the white car.

You cannot go wrong with Wolfgang or Pinnacle products. They are easy to use and deliver awesome results. Ive used all of the Pinnacle and Wolfgang compounds and polishes and they all excellent. While I have never used it, lots of people love Wolfgang Deep Gloss Paint sealant.

Pads for a PC? I really like the new Lake Country Thin Pro pads. Microfiber pads seem to be more geared towards pros looking for fast, not necessarily great results.

So far looks like the Menzerna is the winner lol.

For headlights, in the past I've used the $12 (sale price) 3m kit with the sandpaper. I need to clean 4 headlights, 2 of which our heavily oxidized. Should I go with the same kit? I still have some heavy grit 3m sanding disks left.

Not to keep touting Menzerna, but FG400 with a microfiber cutting pad does wonders for me when I've done headlights. :)

HD Adapt and HD Poxy and done.

If I was told I could only have two products to detail a vehicle with, these are it. With Adapt you get varying levels of cut and finish depending on the pad you use. It's a truly amazing and innovative product. I got these results with an orange pad!

It has exceptional working time and is the easiest polish I've ever used as far as removal as are all the HD Polishes.

PS I have the Menzerna products mentioned and then some along with the Wolfgang and Blackfire entire line of polishes. They are all excellent products too. I have used all of them extensively. IMHO, the value truly lies with HD Products as the costs reflect this.

If you need more "Cut" you could always add HD Cut and chances are the cost of both Adapt and HD Cut would be just a little more than just FG400?

I use to use jet seal, and I can say Wolfgang sealant is head and shoulders above it, same price range. If you want a hand apply product I love FK1000P.

While i also am a Menzerna fanboy, my only question would be...what specifically about CG products don't you like?

FG400 topped with Powerlock Orange LC flat pads with Rupes 15.

Wipe off is not as easy as HD Adapt or Cut. It finished out very nice, FG400 is a great product, but when comparing it oz to oz cost wise and elbow grease wise, that's where the difference is. I also use less HD product in comparison to the Menzerna polishes so imho they are more economical.

This beast was hammered, never detailed in it's seven year life. The oxidation was insane.

You can tell by the faded pin stripe how abused this truck was. Baked 24/7 in the Florida sun.
