I read the power is now closer to the 6" polisher? When did this happen?

Interesting. I haven't heard. Would be pretty nice to see a bump in power.

That would make it a great dedicated 3" da!

Where did you read that?

Why not just put a 3" bp on the 6" polisher and have 2 machines in 1?

Read the Autogeek description of the 3". Sorry, I can't link.

According to Griots.....you can't do that.....I asked them the very same question

Obviously, it can be done, but it's a pain in the rear to constantly switch.

Yeah, that's the description from the upgrade from like 5 years ago. The GG site doesn't say anything like that, and it says the power is 240 watts, which isn't anywhere near the 6" machine.

It's been *upgraded* before?? LOL

Yeah, one can only imagine how pitiful it used to be, because it's not exactly Godzilla now. When they upgraded it ~5 years ago they made it look like the 6" machine, it used to look different.

Sorry, I guess it was 6 years ago:

I have experimented with a 3" and 3.5" backing plate. It can be done but it is far from comfortable and it shakes all over the place. Your hand and wrist will be toast in no time. It's just not properly balanced. it worked much better on my old PC but was still far from ideal.

I'll take my Rupes Mini any day.

I use an LC 3.5" bp with Cyclo or LC 4" pads on my DAS6 500w (relabeled PC) and it works really well. Why not do the same on a PC for those that want a small pad but powerful DA if they don't have the budget for a Rupes mini? The small diameter pads make for awesome cut on the PC as its quite powerful for that intended use.

I've eyed that up a couple times...

Yeah, PC's are great with 4" pads. The beauty of the GG 3" is for those of the fairer sex that have small hands, it's a lot easier to hold than the full-size chassis of the PC or Rupes Mini, etc.
