Textured Rocker Panels - what do you do?

I'm wondering how others polish the textured rocker panels on some vehicles. Do you machine polish them or not?

The bottom portion of our van doors and the rockers are textured like that. I hit them with some HDSpeed and a green pad just to clean them up a bit. Worked well.
