I'm not very experienced and it is hard to see anything on white. I'm looking for a very colorful (red/blue) finishing polish that might help me see what i'm doing on a white car.

I might even mix a little into DG105 to give it some color because i would ideally like to use DG105 3-4 times a year to maintain the car.

Optimum Finish Polish 8 oz., car polish, finishing polish, final polish, black car polish (http://www.autogeek.net/optimum-final-polish.html)

I'm not sure when it's spread out into a working layer that the color is going to give you the contrast you are looking for, however.

It would be really cool if one of the companies made something like food coloring for your products to help see it... without having to worry about staining

The Optimum spray polishes are pink and blue...wait..blue and orange..so that makes Hyper Polish blue now, but I think once at the working thickness, it's going to be pretty much transparent.

Maybe you need to consider lighting if you're trying to see the film on the car--one of the LED worklights shining from the side.

That could be a problem for just about any polish when used on a white car.

Blackfire SRC polish is a dark gray color in the bottle, but quickly becomes clear as it's used.

Would changes in the lighting help? If you could at least see where the oily or dull area's are, it would highlight the working area.

i think lighting is a major factor now that you mention it. its my fiancees car so i don't have a lot of time to work on it. every time i try and clean it i do so outside of the garage and in the sun. the sun is probably white washing everything for me. i need to get it into the garage to tone it down a bit.

Better lighting will help. I've encountered the same issues you have on many different colors outdoors. Light colors and/or those with metallic content really like to reflect and make life difficult.

On several occasions when working on our gray metallic Mazda, I was shocked at all the issues which appeared when pulling the car into the garage or other shady area with different lighting.

Just to note:

•I've found out over the years that many
AIOs/Cleaner-Waxes/Cleaner-Sealants...
(products that will clean, polish, and leave
behind protection)...will require a certain
amount of time between their application
and residue removal; that is to say: they
need some time in order "to dry/to haze".

•This "haze" has always been quite easily
seen by me on any/all vehicle colors...even
including nowadays with my much older eyes.

•Perhaps these type of products can become part
of your detailing process for light colored vehicles...

•Below are a couple of Mike Phillips articles,
regarding AIOs/etc., that I believe you'll find
most helpful:

BTW:
I consider Duragloss #105 an AIO:

I might even mix a little into DG105 to give it some color because i would ideally like to use DG105 3-4 times a year to maintain the car.
