Hi,
I just bought an suv car last month nissan rogue. And last week I did clay over my car and apply Griots garage one step sealant.

I figured out one step sealant got abrasive, Is it hurt my clear coat?

I followed instructions on bottle ( not on their video), so I just apply wait for about 3 min and buff it off. Is that affect the longevity?

Thanks Mike, I am new and I am worry I did wrong to my new car :(, I better know autogeek forum earlier

No , you didn't hurt your clear coat.

Today's polishes, compounds, are formulated and made for clearcoat systems.

The abrasives enhance your paints finish, not mess it up.

You did nothing wrong, one step sealant has a mild abrasive.

Using a compound on the other hand is still safe, but can leave it's own haze behind, but polishing it out is not a problem.

Thanks,
I just worry about longevity of the sealant I just applied. :(
I plan to switch to use
1. Optimum no rise wash and shine to wash a car
2. Clay bar ( I am thinking because I already clayed and my car is new so I don't need to clay again)
3. Use pinnacle's paintwork cleansing lotion to strip the current sealant
4. Apply Meguairs liquid wax
5. Apply spray wax after next car wash

If your looking for a nice protection product , try griots garage poly wax, it is one of the strongest sealants, on the market.

I was told from a product developer it has went thru a stress test and out lasted the top sealants on the market like.

Jet seal, menzerna powerlock , meguiars liquid wax.

Liquid wax isn't a bad product especially for over the counter you get easily get 6 months of protection with it.

The Griots AIO is a good product. Just a little short lived.

When applied with a DA, I found it really shines up the surface. On my wife's Toyota, it not only removed the swirls, but left a really nice deep shine. The only thing I didn't like about it was the 6~8 weeks of durability.

Despite the short lifespan, I've kept it around to do odd polishing tasks like polishing out wheels or brake calipers.

If I choose synthetic wax for longevity protection, I can only top it off with carbauna spray wax after every car wash right?
Can I use Optimum car wax or Synthetic X-Press Spray Wax for after every car wash?
