My buddy is new to detailing and has ask to learn on my good friends Porsche which was a no way!! So he was wondering if there is anything cheap that he can buy to practice web scratchs and learn how to use tools properly for cheap

He should go to the nearest junkyard that will give him a deal on a hood or a door panel. Practice the steps of polishing. Practice wet sanding. Practice scratch repair. The whole 9 yards can be done on a cheap piece of junkyard scrap.

Go to a body shop and get scrap for free.

Friends, relatives, and neighbors beat up daily drivers.

I've also heard of people asking to dumpster dive at local body shops. It's not like they'll straighten a lightly damaged hood or trunk, but it still a good undamaged portion to work on.
