So someone t-boned into my dad's car a while back & we had to buy a new driver side door & we took it to a shop to get it painted & the a-hole who painted it left this spot on the paint... How do I take it off? It feels a bit rough...

Have you tried anything? Is it car paint or something else?

I can't really tell from the picture. If it was me I would try some mineral spirits, in case it's some kind of tape residue. Then some clay. Then some polish.

Looks like oily finger prints.

Bring it back and let them mess with it.

Really hard to say without inspecting.

First try clay, if that don't work, try polishing it.

If that doesn't work try wetsanding it with 3,000 grit.

Really hard to say by just looking at a pic, I don't even know what the heck I'm looking at.

If you said it feels rough, that means it's a above surface contaminant and it can be removed.

Try a clay bar first, if not polishing should take care of it

you don't.
that's in the paint. as in part of it.
sand the heck out of it but it's way close to the edges so that might not be an option.
Next compound the heck out of it and maybe you can make it less noticeable.
