View Full Version : Turtle Wax Melts Plastic?

In a FB group that I'm on someone posted that they used turtle wax ice wash and wax and it melted their mirrors. What would cause this? I've never been a fan of turtle wax, but this is a bit extreme.

He ended up going to the dealer and getting the mirrors replaced and sending the product to turtle wax for evaluation.

And you're buying this? Did he pour it straight from the bottle onto the mirrors? I mean people put their hands in car wash.

I'm not really sure what to make of it, and there's no reason to think he randomly made it up for fun.

At first glance, that looks a lot like some sorta heat damage.
Interesting to say the least...I'll be curious on the outcome. Please keep us informed.

Only in one spot only one certain type of plastic ? That would be weird.
