I need some ideas for a touchless wash to use on tractors, trailers, and my vehicles. I am just need something for a touch up like if the tractors get muddy or have been on the road when it is salty or if it is cold and I feel my vehicles are too dirty to use a rinsless wash on and I can't get to a touchless wash. I have a pressure washer and I tried some regular car wash in it but it did not work any better than just plain water. Any ideas would be appreciated.

I'm not sure what else you could do besides just pressure washing. You can get a foam cannon and let the soap "dwell" but a lot of people say it doesn't help much.

Always try to remove such contamination while still fresh, try foaming the vehicle down with a bug and tar remover or APC, thus replace the layer of protection compromised with Carpro Hydro lastly you could always get a boars hair brush to help along on customer's vehicles though on your own take some time and do multiple foam/rinses(2 or 3)....just some Lego's to the planning

To get them truly clean, pre-rinse with the pressure washer (water only is fine) followed by a rinseless wash. I don't dry the car after the pressure pre-rinse, rather I just use a more concentrated rinseless solution to compensate.

I haven'e found any "at home" touchless approach that works for me. I use commercial touchless washes occasionally, but I'm concerned that the strong chemicals they use takes a toll on LSP.

You sound like a self-motivated person...

There are quite a few DIY touch-less car wash
projects that just require a trip to your local
home improvement store to pick up some PVC
pipe, sprinklers, and accessories.

For some ideas (with pictures) Just Google:

So you suggest the same approach to washing a car as you would a tractor?

I may get a foam cannon, I need/ want one. I may get some touchless car wash soap for it.

Thanks for the advice. I'm gonna get some carpro hydro on my next order.

I don't always have time to do a rinseless wash. I like the results I get from a rinseless wash. I also worry about the chemicals working on the LSP but it is better than having a salt covered vehicle.

That is a good idea. I like doing projects. One problem I see is an at home touchless wash probably won't wash the front and back of a car very well since it just sprays the top and sides. I'm gonna think about it though.

I got a foam cannon and I got some touchless car wash for it. I'm pretty happy with the way it works.

Hood on the tractor before. A lot of that crud was from spilling diesel fuel.

It was spotless after. I blew it off with the electric leaf blower and left it out while I ate supper. When I came back it had muddy cat tracks on it.

When Rinsed it I may have blasted some dirt out from the mirror and it ran down on the door.

I am very happy with the results considering it was touchless. I was in a hurry when I did it, I should have brushed the wheels on the truck. It is going to work great for quick washes on the tractors, trailers, and vehicles especially in the winter. I am trying to hold out until April to make all the winter weather is over with and hopefully the salt will be washed off the roads good by then and I will give everything a good detailing.

I'd say. :xyxthumbs:

The one by my place cost $9 for a bare bone wash. Nothing remotely close to being that clean.

Do you have any D114? Pretreating the panels before running though a touchless really helps. It's cheap & effective. It's basically a paint-safe APC. 1:128 packs a punch, but I've been playing around with the solution as strong as 1:16 with no ill effects (aside from wasting product) when left to dry on paint & powder coated wheels.

With your situation, nice heavy equipment and all, I think it's worth considering. Great stuff, D114.

With a coating you should be able to foam with apc, dwell, and rinse with the pressure washer.

Here is what I used. It is made by Zep.

Thanks, I will look into APC's espically D114. Is D114 LSP friendly?

What APC do you recommend?
