what is a good exterior dust buster?

I want to wipe light dust off the car without doing a complete detailing job

Yes, I have the same issue. My hood, roof and flat portions of fenders and bed are covered in dust. I touched the dust and a sound was made like sandpaper makes, quite rough sounding . My concern is creating clear coat scratches. I have detail sprays and spray waxes. The sun in out today with a temp of 69. My truck is white.

I would recommend using either compressed air or some sort of electrical leaf blower/a Metro sidekick to first blow off as much dust as possible. Then proceed with the waterless wash of your choice to wipe your ride down.

does metro sidekick really clean the dust off the pain?

No. The Metro sidekick is best suited for blow4away water

I was in a similar situation; looking to keep the vehicle clean between waterless/rinseless, and found a strong blower does the job.

Personally I prefer a cordless (running a Makita XBU02Z), as setting up and having to drag the cord around defeats the purpose of a quick clean up, not to mention the annoyance of the line rubbing/tapping on the finish.

It's worth the investment for a good cordless, IMO. I have a comparable corded unit to the 4hp Master Blaster, but hardly uses it now. The time & convenience of cordless is tough to beat.

Pollen? Near by construction? Yard work next door? No sweat.
