This is one of the few "normal cars" i've worked on, but this job was far from normal!

The water spots were EVERYWHERE:
horizontal and vertical painted surfaces
glass roof
all 6 glass windows
chrome trim
and the wheels!

I attacked this project with:
M105
3D hd speed
ceri-glass
mothers metal polish.

This client was in the process of getting quotes for a new paint job because people told him there was nothing he can do about it. So I saved this person thousands of dollars!

Yikes! Nice save. It's always awesome when someone thinks they need a whole paint job and you can do it cheaper and better!

Wow - make sure the client determines what the source of those spots was otherwise he-she'll be back in a couple weeks. Car cover? The risk of minor scratches from a car cover is less than having to polish once a month.

Great save indeed.

i haven't quite had anything that bad yet, but this optima was a bit of a challenge!

THANK YOU Mike! Was quite the challenge. Especially since I had the customer come in for a test spot/quote. I taped off a section on hood and trunk (two worse areas) and was able to correct them with the speed on orange pad.
When the car came in to be done, all the vertical surfaces needing m105 with a MF cut pad to remove the spots. Easily went 5 hours over expected, but a 50% tip definitely made up for that!

As stated above, although i under estimated the time needed, I was given a 50% tip, so it definitely evened out!

thank you for the kind words! This car was purchased from Kia dealer as a used car, was slightly dark outside and didnt notice the spots for a few weeks. Nothing they tried had any impact on removing the spots.

This was the 4th customer in a 3 month period i saved from "needing a paint job". it's quite amazing to give better results for 10% of the cost of a paint job! thank you for the kind words!

Nice work, looks great[emoji106]. Did you try to remove any of the spots with a acid waterspot remover or just clay and polish? I constantly get cars with waterspots because I live in a area with very hard water so I feel your pain on this one. For the glass I do use nuglass from duragloss with Meg's MF pads and they eat up waterspots and the cleanup is a whole lot easier than if I need to use Ceriglass. I tend to go for it first unless I need to try and remove scratches or pits. Just throwing it more stuff for you to try out. Again nice work.

BIG thank you for the tips! i will for sure look into adding that stuff to my never ending product list!
I've done "acid washes" when i worked at dealers, so i am VERY familiar with that, but I used what i had on hand. Had my test spots during quote not worked out, i would've looked into getting some acid instead of having to compound 80% of the car.

So do I! It's a VERY good feeling! I just need to invest in a better camera than my cellphone.
