Watching this video makes me cringe. Poor Mercedes

Years back I walked over to find our neighbor washing bugs off the front of her car with a brillo pad.

Now I have seen people wash their car in the rain, but I've never seen something like this video.

I watched the weight lifter, but I can't watch the eye video. Just can't do it...

I recently got a nostalgic urge and went through some early (first) tv ads for the '64 Mustang and the '67 Camaro on YouTube. TV ads back then felt the need to show these brand new models (at the time) driving on dirt roads!

Ouch! Although watching that guy wash his new C Class with street water was even worse.

I helped out this girl after the snow storm clean snow off her car because I was cringing watching her attempt to do it herself. Unfortunately didn't get her #

That's a great example of "like removing like".

My sister used a metal pot scrubber to clean one of her wheels that had a pad failure or overdue brakes.

Last year after a snow storm my friend, after helping me clean my windshield, wanted to scrape the ice off my headlights too.

I cringe when I see those pink covered cars at self wash places. This video is make those people look like professional detailers.

I noticed my mom's car (white Honda CRV) was clean, she tells me she washed it herself instead of taking it to a carwash. I said "it looks pretty good" she responds "I know! I used oxiclean". Eyes wide I told her never to do that!

A girl that used to live across the street from me was given an older Chrysler by her dad.
The car had spent the previous 12 years parked under a big tree in their back yard.
The tree had plenty of sap to give away. And it must have had a huge "BIRDS WELCOME" sign in it too.

I helped her get it running again and change all the fluids. Installed a new battery and it actually ran fine. As to the paint condition she told me that she had a friend that worked at a "car museum" that was going to come over and help her clean it in a few days.

I dropped by to see how they were doing and couldn't believe it. They were cleaning it with Comet and stiff bristle brushes. The funny thing was it was doing a pretty good job of removing all the sap and bird poo.
And after it was cleaned the guy got out a Cyclo and did a darn good job of actually polishing the paint. Thank God that the old single stage paint was put on extremely thick. And he used Harly Wax on it afterward, which was a non abrasive carnauba that used to be sold at Fedco. The old boat ended up looking and running quite nicely.

Please don't think that I am suggesting using Comet. For anything other than your bathtub.
