Is there a way to test/know/feel the cutting strength of different polishes?

I know many will be obvious by reading the label or knowing the product, but what about things like finishing polishes? How can I tell which similar product is more or less abrasive than the next?

Unless you get reliable information from someone who has used all the products your questioning about the only thing you can do is test spots.
