Alright. I just picked up a used leased vehicle and it is in need of some attention. I have done some research. I have narrowed down my choice to a Griot DA polisher with a 5" backplate and subsequent 5.5" pads.

My question is:
How many pads and what assortment of "LC" pads would be sufficient for a initial purchase.

I found a deal pairing the DA polisher with BLackfire duo polishes. Is this a good combo? I am looking to mainly do paint correction. I already have multiple LSPs, Klasse AIO, clay bars, etc etc etc. I just want to know how many pads someone should buy and any suggestions on specific polishes that yield good results. It's been awhile since I've researched the detailing products.

Thanks for the help.

At least 6 pads per your cutting and 6 for your polishing step
And 1 maybe 2 for finishing/waxing pad

You can get away with 4 if need be

I personally have 12 per now so I can. Literally just swap out per panel

If you're main focus is paint correction I'd lookj to either a long throw griots boss/ rupes bigfoot. Or the flex

3d hd adapt is my go to
Hd Speed for an AIO
For heavier cut scholls s3 XXL or fg400

I'd go with

3 orange 5.5" LC Flat Pads
3 white 5.5" LC Flat Pads

You can tackle this car with the above easily. If your plan is to do a two step process then you can compound with the orange pads and polish with the white pads.

You can hand apply a wax or paint sealant or if your budget allows, get one blue 5.5" Lake Country 5.5" flat pad for machine applying your LSP.

It's a KILLER Combo! BLACKFIRE SRC Compound and SRC Polish are best in class products that will put a perfect finish on any type of paint.

I think everyone will agree that black paint is the most challenging when it comes to creating a perfect finish. So if your choice of products can make black paint look great then you can make ANY color of paint look great.

Here's an old 2-door Chevy ragtop we used the BLACKFIRE Twins on...

When it comes to polishing paint, the most important factor is the compounds and polishes or in other words... the abrasive technology. Don't skimp here.

There's not greater feeling than admiring the results when the job comes out perfect the first time.

There's no worse feeling than after spending hours buffing out a car only to have to do it a second time because the results are mediocre at best.

Plus, you want to mark your backing plate like the picture and video shows in the article.
